Front Seal On Timing Cover

66 mustang 289......have a new timing cover without a front seal bought a gasket kit but it came with 2 seals.. one looks like a reg. seal the other looks the same but with a metal rim around it.i know ones for the front one for the back..they both look like they would fit the front..need to know which one to use

the seal you want is the one with out the ring,it only uses one. it goes in from the inside of the cover, flat face first.the other seal will not work

thanks horse sence..........so the spring side goes toward the engine if im looking at this right that may be why it leaked the other timing cover had the seal with the ring in it

yep , the flat side will seat against the opening in the timing cover
the spring toward the motor. must have been a prety good leak?
