Installed the UPR K-Mbr w/Hal coil overs a few months ago. I have 17x9 Cobra R's with 245/45/17 inch tires. Problem is they are rubbing on the nut that you adjust the coil overs with.

I have not bothered to have it aligned yet so that may be the only problem but I wanted to see what everybody thought first before I go to the trouble.

Thanks in advance,

Is the tire or rim rubbing?
If its the tire, deflate it and see if it hits the rim. If it doesnt' just downsize the tire.
A 9 inch rim doesn't always work well up front.
That's alot of rim for a car that came with like a 7 inch wide rim in the front.

Well I can lower the front end w/the adjuster nuts or I can raise it so it gonna be either the tire or the rim hitting something. Guess I'll downsize to a 17x8 Cobra R.

Im having the exact same issues with my Coilovers hitting my wheels. Here are some pics.....

Im runnin 17x8 2000 GT wheels with 245/40/17. I wasnt to worried about it since im gonna be running skinnies up front I was also told that maybe an alignment would fix it, but i dont think it will.....

Actually i never thought of this... My motor is not in the car right now, and the coilovers are all the way down. I might not even have a issue once i get weight on the springs and i have to screw the rings up to raise the front end up?????? Those rings might clear the motor is dropped in.

I had to move my brake line mount when I did mine. It will hit when turning. I just drilled and retapped a hole further down the frame and carefully rebent the line a little.

I'm running the same wheel/tire combo with MM bilstein coilovers and 10" springs.. no problems what so ever.

Idk what the deal is, the driver side coilover is fine, but as you can see in the pics the passenger side almost hits, maybe like 1/16th of clearance, which is def not safe..... Im really not gonna worry about it, im gonna be running shinnies so w/e.

I don't remember what length they are. I purchased the kit from Summit, HAL-225, but the website doesn't say what length. I want to say they are 14but I'll have to measure them to make sure. Won't get a chance to do that 'till this weekend since it's dark by the time I get home.

That's exactly what my set-up looks like. I'm planning on switching to 5-lug so I'm gonna put a 17x8 on the front. Never really cared for the 17x9 anyway. Hopefully the 17x8 & an alignment will do the trick.

Just remember an alignment isn't going to change anything, since the shock/spring are attached in a fixed position to the spindles.

So make sure you fix the problem completely before blowing money on an alignment.
