Just sharing a recent improvement.

We are swapping motors in Sinister right now so while it is down, we're doing some chassis improvements to help handle the added power going in and this became an area of focus.

While some of you may already be aware, this is for those who are unfamiliar. Some of you may have seen it in a recent article in Mustang & Fords, or Mustang Monthly. This detailed the integration of the 67-70 front torque boxes into 65-66 Fastbacks and Coupes.

The first generation cars (with the exception of convertibles), were not given this chassis improvement that adds strength to the unibody. Without them, the only thing holding the front subframe to the body of the car is where it attaches to the cowl, and the fender aprons. This is why export braces make such a big difference on these cars by triagulating the top. Just don't forget about the bottom.

Now for most drivers, cruisers, this may not be an area you might need to be concerned about. However for the weekend enthusiast, or performance oriented build, you should really consider this upgrade. Also on all 67-up cars, they came standard.

While they don't just slide right in and weld on, in other words there is some trimming involved to retro them into the 65-66 cars, the added stability it gives the front of the car is worth a little work to get them in.

These install right behind the front wheel between the frame rail and inner rocker.

This is what we're talking about here:
