I pulled the tranny today to change the pump seal and when I got the tranny down I'm pretty sure they gave me the wrong seal but any way do I need to remove the bell housing to replace it

I pulled the bell housing and that was a mistake but got it back together okay. here is a pic of the front of the tranny and I assume the pump seal is the one around the shaft.

help is desperately needed cause I have to finish this tomorrow

thanks
mike

Best I can tell from your pics, it looks like the seal presses into the bellhousing. If that's the case, just remove the bellhousing and knock it out from the back using a hammer and punch.

Out is easy!

Fast way is to put a screwdriver on the outside lip and give it a whack. This will bend it up so you can grab it with pliers or get something under the lip to pry it out!

I have an old screwdriver that I heated and bent the last 1/4ths inch on.

Amazingly useful tool!

Exactly.. just destroy the seal. Do whatever it takes to get it out, and pop the new one in.
