Is the aluminum D/s a must when having gears?, I know that due to the lighter weight of the d/s, when gears are added it reduces vibration. But I'm having the rear completly rebuilt and need to know before I take everything to the shop.

I appreciate the responses, and flames if I'm wrong :flag:

no its not a must-have, since your there doing a rear, its easier to swap-out. yes it does cut down on vibes and also cuts-down on rotational mass. also if you remove the damper off the bottom of the rear center section, dont forget to re-attach the upper bracket as it acts as the contact point for the rear axle pinion snubber.
