buena vista,va
i was getting ready to install my d/s loop(lakewood in a frrp box).when i mocked it up it really doesn't fit the floorpan all that well and it hits my h-pipe (stock 4 cat pipe).i would like to see pictures of someone else's install to see if i need to just change h-pipes or i need to tweek the loop brackets.thanks

the alum DS is bigger in diameter, so you need a loop to accomodate it.

i think stangbear427 has posted pics on his alum ds and loop in here if you are searching. also cardomain guys like to show off some of that stuff (just in case all else fails). im sure lots of folks will chime in, though.
BTW, i think we have two cats and two heater-chamber thingies, not 4 cats. anyone know for sure - im not sure.
good luck.

thanks i'll check and see if i can find stangbears pics.my loop isn't rubbing the driveshaft,it's hitting the cat on the left side and it doesn't fit the floorpan very well.i don't know if we have 4 cats,2 cats and 2 resonators or what but i think i'm upgrading to a 2 cat pipe soon anyway if the clutch will hold out a little longer.

Interesting -- all of the Ford D/S loops I've seen look like the HPM unit, and in fact, when I ordered it - it came in an HPM box. It IS a different design than the Lakewood unit, and mine fit like a glove.

The HPM style on I have is a two piece with a flatter piece that bolts under the driveshaft and the top piece fits around the tunnel, both following the contours of the floor. It leaves plenty of room to spare around my FMS D/S.

Might be worth sending it back and getting another one,

that's how my d/s loop looks.it came in a frrp box but it was a lakewood loop and lakewood instructions.i have room around the shaft,it's where it goes over the cat that i don't have any clearance and it just doesn't contour around the floorboard very well.can't send it back, got it at carlisle last month on one the vendor special deals, but it was new and still in the box.
