Fuel Filler Neck Trunk Seal

So I was getting gas and some starting dripping on my pipe. Took a pic of the problem. What type of seal is it to the trunk floor??

If that is all that it is, could i not run gasket seal around it for a short fix?

sure, as long as its a good gas resistant type
