Hey guys.......Where is the fuel filter located on an 02 GT? Can I change it myself? I'm not much of a mechanic......If so, what brand do I get? Anything I need to know before I attempt this? Thanks!!!!!

The fuel filter is located behind the gas tank up top. It almost looks like a soda can. You can do it yourself. Just wear goggles and watch out for spewing gas. Don't worry about a specific brand. Just goto Napa and they'll have it. You'll also need a special tool from Napa (or other special tool stores). It is used to disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter.

Buy a Haynes repair manual book. It has step by step instructions on how to do this. The book is $15 and you will use it time and time again. Good luck :)

It's right in front of the fuel tank. Relieve the fuel pressure by removing the fuel pump relay/fuse or by triggering the fuel pump shut-off in the trunk. Start the car and let it die or crank it over a few times. Any brand but Fram is fine--I'd go with Ford. You'll also need a special tool that you can get from Autozone to remove the filter.
Block up the rear, put a rag around the hose you are going to remove, take off all the clamps and remove the hose. Make sure you are not directly under since fuel will drip. Installation is reverse and pretty easy.
