Can someone explain to me the proper way to change a fuel filter? Is there special tools needed? Pep-Boys quoted $68.... So I bought a new one for $10. How do I relieve the pressure? It's right behind the bumper right?

Thanks guys
Joe

i havent changed mine so i cant help you with the pressure but i know it is right infront of the tank, towards the front of the car, not buy the bumper.

yea behind the gas tank. put it up on some ramps and ull see where it is. i just have a pan and let it pour out of one side. i guess im lazy. couple minutes. hollon my cars on ramps ill go snap a pic. :D

*ok loosen clamp. take 2 plastic pins out, put new filter in (look for arrow) its ez.

No special tools are needed just a screwdriver. You can relieve pressure or not its up to you. I never do. I just unhook it. You can pull the fuse and start the car and let her die. Try to start it a couple of times. Pressure gone. The filter is right in front of the tank and is held in place by a big hose clamp on the mount. It has 2 rubber lines. It has 2 plastic clips that you will need to pull out - well maybe pry out. Then pull the lines off. Be careful because gas will still come out of the lines as well as the filter. then put the new one on the way the old one came off. Its like a 15 minute job. Good luck.

Try to make sure you got new hairpin clips for the new filter (those white plastic clips) - I tend to break atleast one per removal.

Good luck.
