So what's the deal with this swap. I've done some research on parts needed to physically bolt it in, motor mounts, proper flywheel to work with my t5, accessories and such. But what about making the fuel injection work?
I have a '92 lx hatchback and I found a 351w from a '95 f250. Should be a roller block which is why I searched that year.
All I've found is people either using a carburetor or big $$$ aftermarket intakes with fuel injection? Any options on the cheap? Now that being said I'm assembling this engine slowly when I can, so I'll spend money if I have to. I won't use a carburetor.
Also will stock e7t 5.0L heads work on a 5.8L? Pushrods and rockers all the same?
I know lots of questions...
But to make thing real interesting has anyone built a Clevor and used foxbody mustang style fuel injection?
Any links or info will help please.

The basic 351 works exactly like a 302, just bigger. The right meter and injectors and it will run fine.
The heads will likely work, just not sure why bother putting heads that are too small for a 302 on a 351.
Many companies make 351 lower intakes for their 302 intakes.
Not sure what you consider big dollars, but your average intake for any setup is going to be $600 give or take $100.
The first gen lightning used a real gt40 intake with 351 lower.

If you are worried about intakes being big dollars, just forget the 351c idea.

I don't mind buying the aftermarket intake, I'm just wondering if there's a stock version that will fit. Are the 351W heads any good?
The Clevor would be cool but only if I can use fuel injection...

351 heads aren't so great either.
Figure $1500+ (likely more) to get a set of aluminum heads that are good for a 351.

The Cleveland can be done, but you will likely find very few who finished it. Do some google searches for 351c foxbody swap.
Trick flow makes a 351c EFI intake, but I've never seen it used.

If you can get Cleveland heads for $50-$75 a pair, it could be worth it. The last Ebay auction I saw, the head started at $250 each or $500 a pair. That makes it much less attractive.

Do check out http://www.pricemotorsport.com/ if you have any interest at all in Cleveland engines. They have adapter plates to mate an EFI intake manifold to Cleveland heads or Cleveland heads and block.

The heads will need to have hardened valve seats installed to be used with unleaded fuel. That adds $275-$400 to the cost. Then you need adapters to mate your EFI manifold to the Cleveland heads - see http://www.pricemotorsport.com/ for the adapters. The 2V adapters are $255, the 4v adapters are $267. If you use the 4V heads with a 5.0 engine, you need a set of port stuffers to reduce the port volume in increase the flow velocity - that adds $112 plus maybe $150 worth of machine work to install the stuffers. Then you need to modify the heads and block to make the water passages line up. New push rods and gaskets are needed too.

Totals: ( I’m sure that I have missed some things)
2 V Heads
$75 heads
$350 machine work
$225 manifold adapters
$650
If you paid $500 for the heads, that works out to $1100, and a good set of used Trick Flows or AFRs could be had for that price

4V heads
$75 heads
$350 machine work valve seats
$267 manifold adapters
$112 port stuffers (Not needed for a 351 engine)
$150 port stuffer machine work (Not needed for a 351 engine)
$924

302 based engine - If you paid $500 for the heads, that works out to $1424, which is in the price range for a new set of AFR's

351 based engine If you paid $500 for the heads, that works out to $1162, which is just below the price range for a new set of AFR's

If you have to change the pistons, this isn't a bargain. If you can run the 2V heads and stock pistons (don't know if this is possible), it could be a cheap upgrade.

The factory F250 intake will not be compatible with your car. You could source an old 5.8l Lightning GT40 lower manifold (for around $400) and put a 5.0 GT40 upper on it. Or you could just purchase a high quality aftermarket manifold that will fit.

As for what it takes to run the EFI, all of your EFI components will swap over. The sensors, the harness, etc. You will need to modify the fuel rails slightly by making the cross over hoses longer. It's perfectly safe to cut them off and replace them with high pressure injection hose and clamps.

As for bolting it in, your stock mounts can be used. I never advise running drop mounts, as they will change your driveline angles and can induce vibrations due to such. Use a cowl hood if necessary.

You will need a new flywheel, as the 351w uses a 28oz imbalance. You will likely need a new harmonic balancer as well.

Buy yourself a nice set of swap headers, don't fight with trying to make the 302 parts fit.

As for the heads. The F4TE truck 351w uses the same E7TE castings as your 302, save for the 1/2 head bolt holes.

My honest opinion is that you should hold off on the install until you can afford a nice set of heads, intake, and cam. That way you only do the job once.

I bought a 351w Edelbrock Victor Jr. carb style EFI manifold today for $200. The deals exist, just gotta look and wait.

Put a close eye on that manifold. Check the injector bosses. IIRC, all edelbrock carb style manifolds use a vertical injector seat, vs the canted style of our stock rails and manifolds.

You might need new rails.
