Fuel Injector cleaner

Im at about 77,000 miles and I'm noticing a 1-2 MPG drop. I cleaned my K&N and replaced my fuel filter about 10k miles ago. The K&N looks dirty (a few long trips and living in a dusty area where things get dirty fast) so I figured I'd clean and oil it again. I was wondering if maybe I should do something with the injectors. What would you recomend? Ive heard that the in gas tank stuff gets too diluted to do much good. I sucked some Seafoam through the PCV about the same time I did the air filter cleaning. I may also have a slight drop in power... or maybe I just think I do because of small loss in MPG.

run a can of seafoam in the gas. it says on the bottle how much it takes to treat x amount of gallons of gas, and than just add a bit more for good measure

A slight drop in MPG is normal anyway as the car ages. Sensors start wearing out, (especially the o2 sensors,) passageways start clogging up, bearings start wearing down, tolerances aren't what they used to be, etc. You'll go out of your mind trying to cure MPG probs on a Mustang.

You could try the fuel additives, but the best way to clean the injectors is going to be with the high pressure solvant. I'm not sure if you can rent a kit in your area, but the local dealership should have one. When was the last time you changed your spark plugs? Every little bit helps.

Plugs are original, so that should be done soon. Just wondering if it will be as hard as everything else is on newer cars, At least I dont have to worry about being cramped by headers.

Changing the plugs is very easy on these motors, its just keeping them from ejecting from the head once youve changed them thats the hard part.

As already stated, changing plugs are really easy with these engines. Not like the old OHV where you were constantly bashing your kunckles against the headers.

....and when you do change them, skip the fancy expensive platinum plugs. Just go with a good replacement copper plug like an AGSF-32C. They're a better performing plug, for 1/3 of the cost. Platinum plugs are great for longivity, but I still change them every 60,000-80,000km regardless.
