I once saw a chart that listed the commonly available fuel injector sizes and the ammount of hp the could safely support. I can't find it and I'm trying to figure something out.

If I wanted to support between 500 & 600 naturaly aspirated horsepower I think I would need 48 #/hr injectors.

At what hp level does the factory fuel rail become restrictive?

I'm considering an engine swap and have arived at 2 options.

1.) be conservative and run a small 331 stroker
2.) go all out and build a hot 418W or maybe 427W

I'm trying to figure out what would be needed to support the fuel requirements for the big engine. I estimate crank hp in the 500 minimum to 600 maximum range.

30lb injectors should be sufficient for 500 fwhp 42 lb injectors should be sufficient for 600 fwhp. they say the stock fuel rails will support up to 500 fwhp, but at that point I think it would be safe to say the combination of fuel rails and fuel lines should be changed. hope this helps you chris
