Fuel Line Question

So, I was looking under my car for a rattle the other day and I noticed that my fuel lines near the filter are pretty corroded. They need to be replaced.

Two questions; How much of a PITA is it to replace the hard lines between the tank and the rails? Secondly, I've searched here and found that the stock lines seem to be good for around 500 rwhp. Is that the consensus? That is what I'm shooting for, so I want to be set up for the future.

I did this on my car. Without a rear axle and transmission in place it still took me a few hours to do it on my back.

A friend of mine did it on a running car and did manage to get it done on jackstands, but complained about the job.

Thanks! I was under the car last night, looking it over and it doesn't look fun. It seems that I would have to route them between the sub frames and car. I think I'll look into another route.

Also from all my investigation 500 is the maximum they will support. If it were me and I knew I would be around that number I'd get aftermarket lines along with the rest of the fuel system needed.

If you're replacing for big horsepower levels, you need only upgrade the size of the feed line. The stock return line is fine. Upgrading to an -6AN feed line will feed upwards of 800hp.

I just did this with the pre bent 3/8 line from latemodel. I've got full length subframes and it was a total pita. Figure on a full day if you have subframes.

That's way more than I'll ever need! I'll probably just do both anyway since they both have to be replaced.

That's what I'm seeing. A full days work on the car would take me a month at least! I'm thinking of trying something like this, Fuel Lines & Adapters - Fuel Management - Russell Performance Products
