Ummm, isn't the '98 GT the first year they went to the returnless fuel system? In that case, you may want to rethink going to the 255lph. All that on and off action will wear it out in a hurry.
I just gave away a 255 Walbro. I'm not sure about the 98 being returnless... I don't think it is. If it is then get a Focus SVT pump or the Steedas. Walbro 255s in a returnless system is asking for trouble. They are not designed to run in a returnless system.
Are you sure? I realize they went with the new PI engine and body style in '99, but whenever you try to buy a fuel pump for a Stang, they're always listed as '85 or '86-'97 and then a separate listing for '98-up.
we'll have to do some more research here but I seem to remember something about it being in some sort of basket on the '98s, whereas the 96/97s are not.
well my wife tried to order a fuelpump from steeda and now they want to know if it is in line or a canister pump.. the fuel pump is stock with a bust a pump from procharger. why is it such a PIA to get a fuel pump for a 98 gt? any way, thank u for you input and help.
some of the 98's have the returnelss style...look at your fuel regulator, and if it is the one that is molded in, that can't be removed..you have the returnless model...
