Which is which on the '73 302 mustang pump? There is one threaded and one for fuel hose. Also can somebody help how to properly route the fuel hose (or line?) under the engine bay? Is it safe to run rubber hose around muffler?

The threaded port should be the outlet to the carb. Do not run rubber hose near the exhaust. If you do, carry good fire insurance. The factory line from the tank ran along the frame rail up to the shock tower and inside the tower, around to the front inner fender apron, then thru the apron, opposite the fuel pump location.

Do you have any picture? I still don't understand how to go around tower and how to be far enough (i.e. at least 3") from the exhaust. Am I near close as shown on the attached picture (black or pink line)? I can't find any picture on the Internet showing this area in detail.

I'll see if I can snap one for you when I get home. I'm wondering where your original gas line (pump to tank) is though. Wait that's not a 73 mustang's engine bay is it?

The factory ran the fuel line on the outside of the fuel rail. Not sure about early 70's Stangs.
