fuel pump problem

i ahve an 88 gt and for some reason when i shut my car off (keys out) about ten minutes later my fuel pump will start running. it just started doign this today without any modifications to anyting. whats wrong/

I would look for a latching fuel pump or EEC relay. Curious how it takes time to come back on though.
You should be able to yank out the FP relay to get it to stop. before that, I would probe the relay socket and note the values you get to help track down the issue.

well after painting the lx tonight and goign out for a cruise in the gt.. it wouldnt start the pump died. but if anyone knows why it would come on ten minutes after the keys were out let me know im curious

I'd pull your driver seat and have a look-see at the FP relay. Maybe something got kicked under there which messed something up. No clue why it would have happened so suddenly.
