My fuel pump went out on me last week and we thought the problem was a fusible link and we fixed it. I took my car out the other day and the pump cut out again and i just played with the wires and it went back on it did this three times. Now the pump wont go on at all is it a bad pump ??? The relay is still good and there is power going to the back of the car.The pump is new but I know that doesnt mean anything. Any ideas???

If you still have an intermittant power loss issue, the pump cant do much to help (I am a little confused on the exact events here).

If you want, probe the FP relay terminals:

Car off: one wire has 12 volts.

Key on, engine off and pump priming: three 12 volt wires and one ground. When the pump finishes priming, you lose the ground and one 12 volt wire.

You might goose the wires while doing all this since it seems like you have or had a poor connection.

If you pull codes, a code 95/96 indicates a problem exists or existed with the FP wiring.

Good luck.
