Need to replace fuel pump in my 92 bolt on. I have heard different people tell me that I need to upgrade regulator, and others say stock is just fine. what is stangnets opinion on this? plan on putting walbro 255 in the tank

thanks

Stock regulator is fine.
I still run a stock regulator on my 393w.

The stock regulator will be fine. When you say 92 bolt on. Do you mean the car has basic mods? If so the 255 is way over kill.

every bolt on, except heads and cam ( coming later) got a better suggestion? I did assume a 255 is overkill, but that what I have been hearing to put in

255 is overkill. 150 or even 190 would be more than enough.

When I went from a 88lph to a 190, my fuel pressure went up 3-4 PSI. Fortunately I had a kirban adjustable so I was able to lower it down, however the lowest setting possible gave me 39psi. That's just my experience.

If I could of it again, I would install a 150lph pump, and that's with my future plans of TFS170 heads. I feel it's more than enough short of a power adder on the combo

I'm still running the stock pump on my H/C/I setup. However, I know I'm past the limit of the pump and will be installing a 155 Walbro this weekend. I would recommend you do the same. No need to be pushing that much fuel through the system when you don't need it.

Have ran the 255 on various cars that needed it and didn't need it and never had a problem
