fuel pump

hi

i have mustang 67
302 engine late model (not ho )
holley 4150 600 CFM dp

i don't know what fuel pump batter for me
electric fuel pump or mechanical fuel pump

if i chose the mechanical option i need a new timing chin cover whit hole for the pump



so what are u thinking better for me ?

get a good mach pump. I have a carter HP pump I bought many years ago. My 302 spins to 7 grand and under some hard street runs it never leans out. I have a 700 CFM DP carb too.

btw yes you will need a new timing cover and cam eccentric as well

so you thinking that i need to change the cam also
if i use whit mechanical pump ?

no there is an attachment that goes on the cam gear. The pump is driven off this attachment. If you go to the boine yard and remove a mech pump and timing ocver you will understand. I mena how else if the mechanical pump driven? They are all drivine off the cam, chevy uses a lobe on the cam, ford using a loble that is attached to the front of the cam and it touches the pump arm to drive the pump.

i think that i go whit the electric pump .

what are u thinking about the holley red pump ?
