Ok today driving home the car wasn't revving at all over 2800 rpms at WOT. If I were to gradually go into it it would slowly climb up, but very slow. Had no problems like this before today either. Well my fuel pump has been extremely loud for the fast few weeks or so.. Like I can stand an easy 10 feet away from the car and hear it hum over everything else.. The pump is less than a year old, its a Walbro 255 lph pump. I got home and hooked up a fuel pressure gauge to it and it would sit right about 39-42 psi idling and such. Turn the car off and it don't drop at all. So I kept it hooked up and took it out for a drive and when you start to go into it more the psi begins to drop. At WOT the fuel pressure was sitting at only 20 psi and the car would just sit there and bog down.. but in the lower rpms is anywhere from 35-45 like usual.
I also have the codes 87 and 96 but I think I know what they are from and don't think that they are my problem. The new pump is the only thing I have done to the fuel pump circuit and I really don't want to have to do another..
Oh and the fuel filter is less than 1k miles so I know thats not the problem either..
What do you guys think? Did I get a pump with a short life? Or could it be something else?
