how big is a stock fox fuel pump? im thinking of upgrading to a bbk 190 or a 255....i have a 89 vert w/ a bbk 70mmtb, polished cobra intake, bbk cold air, ford ud pullies, a/c and egr delete, msd cap and rotor, frpp 9mm wires, and full exhaust. I only have 19lb injectors and stock maf but soon to upgrade to 24's n like a 76 c&l......so i guess my other question is could a run a 255 with my current set up with a adjustible fuel pressure regulator and be ok untill i get the 24lb injectors? or should i just go with the 190?

Walbro makes a good pump. I got a 255 shipped for about 100 bucks and hasn't had any problems since.

Check out jdsperformance.com for a good price on walbro pumps. Which is what the BBK pump is.

even with out an adjustible fuel pressure regulator? or would i need one of those so it wouldnt run to rich??

Fuel pumps

The stock pump out of my 1990 was 95lph, with that pump I ran the mods in my sig just fine. I just installed a Paxton 1220sl (7-9psi w 3.33 SC gear) and changed to an intank 255 lph high pressure Walbro. The research that I did said that a too big pump wouldn't hurt anything and left room for future upgrades.

you will be fine . . . the great thing about the mustang return line fuel setup is 'xtra' fuel gets cycled back to the tank therefore you really can't have too much pressure through the fuel injectors. They will take what they need and that is it. In fact, with this you will never have to worry about running lean as there will always be plenty of fuel available for the puny 19lb injectors to squirt. I ran a 255lph walbro in my '92 5.0 for several years with no issues and an otherwise stock setup.

You really can't have too big of a pump because you have a return line. Whatever the motor doesn't use, goes back to the tank. With that said you will be cycling a lot of fuel and will probably need an aftermarkt FPR anyways. Moving that much fuel will heat it up some which is a consideration for some. With out a HIC I personally wouldn't bother with the fuel pump for now. Even 24s on your current setup won't be needed...

the reason im asking is because my fuel pump just went out and I figured id upgrade while its down and I am planning to do hci this winter along w/ 24lbers n a maf....but thanks for all of the feedback!
