Hey guys,

I am looking for some feedback on a fuel rail setup like this below. Does anyone see any potential issues or hazards?

View attachment 192680

I have an Aeromotive regulator, braided lines with AN fittings and some aluminum rails (don't know the brand). I bought all this stuff off someone on some forum for a decent price. The passenger side rail was a real pain to fit. I finally got it on with the stock distributor after some filing of both pieces, but I had to cap and not use the end closest to it. So this layout seems like my last alternative, the FPR will mount where the original coil was mounted on the power steering bracket.

Thanks!

Ryan

The Fuel Pressure regulator needs to be in the return portion, so what you have drawn not will not work.

I am not a fan of the middle of the rail fitting (most commonly used as the return on Aeromotive set-ups), it can starve injectors.

I prefer to feed the rear of the rails using a Y-block, then run the lines out the front to the side ports on the Aeromotive reg, then the bottom port is used for the return.

Since it looks like your tapping into stock lines and have dist clearance issues I suggest this, you can feed the rear of the drivers rail, loop the front rail to rail, run a line out of the rear of the passenger rail to the side port of the Aeromotive regulator, cap off the adjacent port, then run a line out of the bottom to your stock return line.

Thanks so much for the tips! The main problem is that distributor clearance, I have no way to get a fitting on that driver side front rail (where it says capped in the pic), so doing front to front loop seems to be impossible at this point, unless I change the distributor to a MSD, but even then I can't be sure that will solve my fitment problem.

I like your method of using the Y block for the feed. I could do this except instead of running out of the driver front rail, I would have to use the side port between cylinder 6 and 7. Would this starve cylinders 5 & 6?

Thanks!

After staring at my setup for a couple hours this afternoon, I think it would just be wiser to sell the braided lines, Aeromotive FPR, and the rails and go back to the stocker setup with a upgrade FPR like BBK or something. I really dont need this stuff, the car is not going to make nearly as much hp that would need lines like this.
