Ok I'm in the midst of dropping the tank for the first time and I got the first strap off (PITA) and now I just started loosening the other.
This strap bolt does NOT want to break loose and if I use the breaker bar it just wants to shear the metal U-clip. I used so much WD40 on it I'm starting to run out lol...
Anyway I'm thinking of just drilling out the spot welds on the other side of the strap and releasing the tank that way. To fasten it, I will just get the correct size bolt/nut and lockwasher, this should hold up fine. I am not in the mood to curse at the fuel tank any longer. I need help!!
