I ran across some full length headers however I have no clue if they are Foxbody type. Owner states they came with a 84 Foxbody. It would be a long drive to purchase them. Opinions?

They look like the old MAC headers due to the individual primaries i.e. there is not a once piece flange to bolt the header up to the head. I had a set of MAC's and could not get rid of them fast enough due to getting the primaries bolted up to the head after they had heat cycled was damn near impossible. Price is nice but for me they are where they should be which is minimal effort from being in that trash can.

I guess it would depend on how badly you want them given what @AeroCoupe says - you can buy a new one piece flange and rework them. Question is are you able or do you want to? You could have a set of long tubes for 80's or 90's prices if you went that route....

Hell, I'd buy 'em, I got that style individual flange and I have no issues bolt'n 'em up, I may have to get a small screwdriver to line up the holes a tiny bit, mine have been off and on like five times, didn't even have to swear at all.

Mac 1 5/8" 5spd headers. I'd grab them, A kiddie pool, A gallon on Transchem muriatic acid, some baking soda to rinse them off and neutralize it, then some silver rustolem bbq paint look good as new. Buy some header or 3/8-16 studs, cometic MLS or copper header gaskets and rtv will help with lining and sealing them up if any warpage. Bbk mid pipes don't fit mac though so have to make your own or mod one.

Not a fan of speedmaster for majority of their parts but they do have a semi decent & cheap header stud kit vs arps insane pricing and copper header gaskets

I've had long tubes on for years and I'm not a fan, mostly clearance issues when doing maintenance.
I know I'm the odd one daily driving my fox the last seventeen yesrs, but this is just my opinion.

I’m with you on that. I know I could eke out a few more hp with long tubes but the pain in the ass factor is just not worth it to me.

Damn you guys think fox body long tube headers are hard be glad you don't work on other cars, granted I pretty much refuse to work on a car without a lift any more though. Mac headers don't really pose any maintenance clearance issues with plugs and clear clutch cables pretty decently, I'll take those any day over spaghetti equal lengths plug wire killers. Prices for long tube headers are down right stupid now after the EPA crack down so $80 obo is a bargin.

I'm old skool, I do them for torque, HP meh, you get a couple in the lower range but torque is king on the street.
Not for racing but to escape the traffic clog of spaghetti taco eating masses that point a mashine down the road.
Shorty headers have all the advantages and in the RPM range 90% of cars run they have really no disadvantage.

Nitrous is max torque but you better have a damn good suspension and fly paper surface . was Always fun for me when a 12 seconds na beater would 60ft in 1.3's on the bottle without being a gutted tin can ,filling bottles got old fast though.

If you dropped those headers off at my house for free i'd throw them in the recycling can.
Suspected to be mac is bad enough, no flange? Hell no, i'm not a fan of crowbarring tubes into place.
Shorties are really fine for most cases. Personally i like bassani equals, not sure if they really help or not, but that was my preference. Never burned a wire on any set of equals i had either. If i remember correctly i used taylor wires.
And yes, one of the sides you need to remove the motor mount nut. It's honestly not that big of a deal.
If i were to ever do another set of headers, i'd just pay up for something high quality stainless.
I see long tubes as a race car thing. They are a pain to install, require a different mid pipe, hang low and really don't provide much power improvement (if any) over equals. Why bother...

Even that is debatable. My wore out, stock 302 with 2.2L Flowzilla laid down 460 lb/ft at the wheel at 10 psi (approaching 11) on pump gas. That is more than just a [little bit] into nitrous territory. It's all up in it.
