functional scoop

has anyone done or heard of anyone making the gt into a functional scoop but now used for forced induction rather for engine bay cooling ie. cutting a hole in the hood and using the exsisting scoop?

yes there was a kit in the mustangs unlimited catolog if I am not mistaken.

can't find it in the new catolog. I think it was in one of the old ones.

You either have to buy a 03-04 Mach 1 hood and buy a factory Ford shaker to go with it, that option is pricey. I did it on my old 01 GT, it cost about 1500 after paint. Or find the CDC version that uses your stock hood, that one is alot cheaper, but I don't think it looks as good as the Mach 1 hood.

Do it right and get either one of those kits or don't do it at all. Cutting out the honey comb insert and hood isn't a good idea.

You can do it,guys over on the IMBOC.com have done it,but you do risk of it ripping off at high speeds,or getting water on top of the engine.When i had my stock hood,all i did was drill out all the holes in the honeycomb insert to allow the water to drain out after washing my GT.
