Not for my mustang, however its my daily driver a 93 Buick Lesabre has only 58k miles on it. Anyway my fuse for the interior lights ie dome light keep on popping every few days. I replace it with a new one and 2 days later or sooner it will pop. I checked out all other fuses etc and connections and replaced bulbs in the dome.

I remember there was a penny stuck in the cigarette lighter when i let my friend borrow my car 2 days later I got it back and my lights were not working so i replaced fuse and bulbs and it popped again next day fuse only. I also noticed the penny was no longer in the cigarre lighter. Im sure he plugged in his cell phone charger in there. He said the radio fuse popped while he had it, and he replaced it. I made sure it was same amp rate. I do have a stero with amp I checked all the fuses by battery and amp and they are fine. Where is it shorting out?? i left it at a local mechanic and he found nothing wrong then when i got it back sure enough the next day the fuse blew. I also replaced 2 alternators in the last 2 months. Can this be related?? car would just cut out when I drive it at night... please help me figure this one out sick of changes fuses and alternators!!!!

The only reason i mention the penny in the lighter is because i had a friend who had a penny stuck in there and his genious friend tried to take it out while he was driving with some metal tool and it shorted out his alternator on the highway..

problems like this are sometimes hard to trace so you'll need to be patient. i'd check to see exactly what's running on that circuit and eliminate one by one. ie if the lighter is on that circuit, disconnect it and see if it still blows the fuse. odds are though, that the problem is an old worn wire shorting on the frame or something. also, check the pin switches at the doors as i've had these cause problems before. good luck and keep us up to date on the outcome.

Yeah, it's most likely grounding out somewhere... or the problem could be that it's a GM, you never know.

You definately have an intermittent short to ground. Look at a wiring diagram for that car and see what all is on that circuit. You will have to keep fooling around with things on that circuit and pay careful attention to what you are doing when the fuse blows, then investigate that part of the circuit more carefully.

I broke down and ran a new power wire to all three brake lights to stop my fuse from blowing. I could not find a problem anywhere, but the fuse kept popping when I hit a bump going down the road. Try to pin down exactly when the problem occurs and try to duplicate it is all I can add.
