I have an 02 V6 vert. I have an intake and exhaust on it right now. I am getting ready to put 25% underdrive on it, and I was looking at my future plans for the car...just to realize that they are all beauty mods. What are some other preformance mods that I could do that aren't extremly expensive (under $500)?

I'm a Four banger but I'll give this a shot plus I'm bored and I one is rather have speed than looks

1) If your car is a Auto you could swap in a stick shift that will wake it up some. If its already a stick shift swap in a short throw shifter I have a lot of fun with my short throw.

2) look into a tunner/chip for it.

3) Now when you say intake I'm guessing you mean a CAI? If so look into what kinda intake mainifolds they got for your car or port the ones you already have.

***If your car is under warrenty you may want to skip this until its out***

4) Cam swap, I'm sure they make a nice aftermarket cam for your car.

5) Nitrous kit

6) Install a 3:73 rear gear if you car has a high gear. ( usualy autos has a 3:73 already so double check what gear you have)

This is meant as ideas only to help you decide on what to do. I would figure out which area I wanted to persue and ask around before I did anything

Good luck

its auto

I refuse to do nitrous. It's cheap horsepower...not cheap as inexpensive...cheap as in a crappy way to get hp. It's still got a year or so left on its warranty, plus the powertrain, so I don't want to do anything TOO devistating to it which I can't undo in an hour or so...(with the exception of my X pipe...I got some cats from a friend he had and I have my origional setup still in the closet)

why is it crappy? it`s a catalyst to aid in combustion. when it is combusted it releases extra oxygen atoms to be used to support combustion of more fuel not to mention the energy given of when the double bonded nitrogen is broken down. it`s no different than blowing on a fire to get more flames. turbos, superchargers and nitrous all do the same thing. ADD MORE OXYGEN TO SUPPORT MORE FUEL IN COMBUSTION=MORE POWER. nothing cheap about that. that`s the name of the game
you get power adder you get

Oxygen exists as O2 in the atmosphere so it'd be oxygen molecules.

2N2O + O2 ----> 2N2 + 2O2

Nitrogen bonds aren't being split, it's the oxygen-nitrogen bonds being seperated during combustion.

I just see adding nitrous or propane as an added fuel just is a way to show off. i don't want that. I want to do something that will basically keep my car running well at all times, not when I want to be a 'Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me''Kiss Me' and burn 4/32nds of tread off my rear tires and drain my gas tank at the same time...lol. (if i see someone burning rubber i just go "oh...there goes $5 of tire, $10 of clutch...")

I guess after i do my ASP 25% underdrive, i'll just keep it as is for a while...at least until my warranty has gone bye bye.

This is a weird question, but my girlfriend has cerebal palsy, and i'm afraid if I drop my car any more she'll have trouble getting in and out of it. Any experience in that area?
