I just received my Steeda Grill Delete kit from PartShopper and noticed it did not come with the doublesided foam tape. I called PartShopper and they stated that the grill delete kit they are shipping now just contains the three OEM Ford pieces and thats it. :nonono: So basically as the kit comes, there is no way to properly secure the trim piece down. I now have to go out and either buy the foam tape or the nylon bushings so I can screw the trim piece down. Also, if you reuse the four screws to secure the trim piece you then have too buy two additional screws to secure the pony to the grill as it does not come with any screws. Not a big deal, just a little frustrating that I have to go buy additional parts to properly install it. PartShopper did offer to allow me to return it, but I said no.

Why not just install it the right way? Go buy some nylon spacers and screw it down. 90% of the places out there don't sell a 100% complete kit,t hey take the cheap way out. The one I got from GEFracing was 100% complete. The screws that hold the pony on are security screws and are like $1.00 from Ford.

I was going to give the tape a try, but am now going to screw it down properly since it did not come with the tape. I will also stop by the Ford dealer tomorrow and see about getting the security screws. I guess I was more or less posting this as an FYI so if anyone else orders the kit they can be prepared ahead of time.

Mine is held down by tape only.

It's been like that all summer and through some heavy rain and it's holding tight.

I used the regular screws for the horse. The security screws are pointless. If any of you guys ever saw an Sn95 in a junkyard and wanted the pony, you'd find a good hard yank strips the screws right out of the plastic mounting post. If someone wants your horse, they are not gonna unscrew it, they are gonna rip it out. Sorry to say, but the security screws are not gonna help you out here.

Double-sided foam tape is available at hardware stores. My kit is held by the tape only, and it's been holding fine. The screws aren't much of a use after I removed them (even though I tried to be careful on the removal). I even was daring, and didn't Dawn the area to remove the wax. I just cleaned and stuck - no issues.

They really should have sent you security screws - what the heck did they expect you to attach this with?!?!
Go to Ford - p/n N808040-S100 (2 per pkg)
And even if you use nylon bushings/spacers, you'll need to cut about 1/4 inch off of the screws or they will begin to dimple/poke thru the grill delete piece...been there, done that.
