Gangster Lean

Had to weld my drivers side years ago to get The lean out.But I got a great deal on new seats and they are way more comfy and more support .
They hold my fatass in when I take 25mph turns at 60-65mph, love my stang.

Good thing you are an upholsterer

yeah my 93 lx original seats had the lean. I pulled the upholstery and foam off, welded up the joints and put it all back together after a good warshing. The upholstery was pretty nasty, but cleaned up nice. Several years later it was time to do something as the foam was really wearing out. Foam alone is pretty expensive. I found a set of Dove Grey 2007 Mustang cloth seats for $80, sold the back seat for $50 and kept the fronts. Disassembled the seats, took the upholstery and foam off, cleaned them up and put it all back together. The 07 seats are very easy to take apart. A lot easier than the fox body seats! Had to make a couple shims and then bolted the 07 seats to the fox body tracks, required drilling a couple new holes in the frame. Big deal. I'm 6'8", or almost 6'8", and with these, you sit a little lower in the car. More head room. Also I drilled the holes in the frame such that the front seat sits further back than the originals, so that when I slide the seat track back, the front seat backs almost hit the back seat. There is about 3/4" between the seat back and the back seat. Works good for me. The only downside, is that it takes some drilling and some work--also had to make a shifter handle extension, but it works really well. They look right at home in the car, which is factory Opal gray interior. I may have the upholstery dyed at some point but am still undecided if I am going to do that & keep the car or what. It's just a 4 cylinder that nobody wants anyway so it has little value to anyone but me.

Turbo it someday

The 2.3 is the most reliable and easy to work on engine Ford ever made. It may not have gobs of power but it's still a real mustang. I've seen a few really clean 2.3 mustangs lately. Some of them would sell for more than the average worn out v8.
