Do you think it is worth it to put higher octane gas in if you dont have a power adder (turbo/supercharger) i mean, if the compression is not high, does higher octane really make a difference? because predetination is not an issue... or is it. i have plenty of mods to my car, but not a blower (yet... heh). so would it do me any good to put the higher octane in? or would it be useless.... the higher octane cant HURT my engine, can it?

the gas station down the street from me has one really neat looking "special" pump. it says GT Race Fuel (at sunoco) it says it is 99 octane. would it help boost power at all? or would i just be burning precious dollars without a supercharger.

Well if you set your timing in higher degrees then you would need higher octane to make up for the time the engine needed to burn the gas to prevent detonation. Correct me if I'm wrong.. I'm still learning.

useless. just burns money.

some people say higher octane than you need can foil your O2 sensors eventually.

right i heard that too. i was wondering about the truth to it. some mechanic told me it is good for your engine to put higher octane in every now and then..... i also heard that it can add power to some engine setups.... too many differing opinions
