gas light

i have had my car for almost a year now and to this day i have never seen my gas light come on. i usually fill up when it gets close to the red and i can fit about 14 gallons or so. i have thought about getting a little gas can and driving it till it runs out or till the light comes on but have not gotten around to doing it. its not a big issue that needs to be fixed but im just curious if it is broken. at what level does everyone elses light come on? before the red?

my buddies 87 hatch GT had a gas light. But yes we didnt...damn redheaded step child we get the shaft :damnit:
























oh well, if you need a light to tell you that your about out of gas...why the he!! do you even have a fuel guage you only watch it go down.

on the 88 Gt vert. I know early (and I think all, but things might have changed with air bags and ABS) fox GT's have them. At least 87-89's do.

Knowing that the light uses the same sending path as the POS gauge makes it worthless. I once had it come on and was waiting for a train wondering if it was gonna' do 'Eleanor at the docks' on me.
