gas line problems

i recently got a hole in the gas line on my 88 lx,i repaired the prolem with rubber gas line .the problem is at normal driving conditions the car runs fine but when you put the pedal down to really get on the car it blows the rubber line completly off the steel gas line.theres no problem with the vent tube or anything on the gas tank . any suggestions much appreciated,thanks

well, stop using rubber line

I would really consider fixing this problem, could be hazardous. Rubber fuel line will work but it needs to be able to grip. A flaring tool would put a notch on the end of the metal line where the clamp (fuel hose clamp, not regular hose clamps) can grip. I would really suggest metal.

The Ford Service manual shows you splicing in a metal line for a damaged area.

thanks for the info,i have just found they make a reproduction hard plastic fuel line with hard plastic compression fittings at my local speed shop ,this is a problem im trying to address quickly.once again thanks for the info

As stated already, youll definitely want to get a permanent metal fixture on there. Where is the line broken?
