Just for S&G's I'll take the Cobra on a short road trip. It's mostly a garage queen these days, but every now and then I like to take it out just to keep the seals moist and prevent the tires from getting flat spotted! Heck, the Blackstone Lab sticker in the corner of the windshield says the last oil change was September 25th... of 2004! I've haven't even put 2500 miles on the car in the past year. Sad huh?
So a road trip is in order! There's a little store down in Valparaiso Florida the wife likes to shop at. Well the wife and I are both off today so we're takin' the snake for a slither in the cold.
According to google maps it's approximately 162 miles from my place to the store. 60 miles of that is on the highway (I-65) and the rest is on secondary roads. Instead of cranking up the V1 and trying to set a new land speed record (currently 2h 20m) I'm going to take my time and do the whole trip down and back on one tank of gas. RPM's will never exceed 2000 at any time. All shifts will be done at approximately 1850-1900 RPM's. Will mentally visualize an egg shell under the accelerator. We'll see how far I can squeeze the MPG out of her...
Filled the tank to the brim last night with some Entec 93.5 and as soon as the old lady gets her dead ass out of bed we're gone...
I'll report back this afternoon with some numbers...
U.M.
Man do I lead an exciting life or what!?
