Can anyone here help me in finding out what is the estimated gas mileage for a 77 cobra II, 302? I need it for a window sticker I am doing and its asking for a gas mileage of this type of vehicle. I believe they are asking for miles per gallon.
I found some references to the gas mileage in a couple of articles. The average found was about 15 mpg. Estimates from one article was 14-16, another test car, with V8 recorded an 18.1, still another V8 14.6.
Here is a quote from a Road and Track article:
"Ford expects fuel economy of the V-8 package to average around 15 mpg"
Thanks to low compression and egr emissions crap hanging on the motor for the crappy mileage.
Interesting; lower the fuel efficiency of a motor, while at the same time, make the exhaust somewhat cleaner. But that car is burning more fuel during its lifetime now, so total output of pollution evens out in the end anyway. And at the cost of power. What a waste of effort on their part.
