gas mileage

My '93 gets 19 with the mods and constant standing on it... Highway cruise to work is 2500rpm or about 85mph for fifteen minutes each way.

Best was the run up to S+W race cars for the old Capri's cage. Flat PA turnpike at 65mph or so averaged 26mpg fill up to fill up.

A big variable here is what 'around town' means. For me, it means very little in the way of traffic. That makes it easy to get better mileage. If you're in heavy stop and go commuting, 12-15 mpg for almost anything with a V-8 in it is not unreasonable. Well, it may be unreasonable, but it's not unusual! :)

I miss typed there, it is 13.5 in the city, and I have yet to take a long trip on the highway with the car.
gotcha. i thought maybe you were driving a tank or something. :)

I get consistent 13mpg and under city driving. Whether I baby it or not, it never goes up. Is that bad? It's pretty irritating hearing about people getting 20+, when I don't even get 20 highway driving. (Drove to springfield and back, 330 miles or so, had cruise set on 65 the WHOLE way). :nonono: In the city, I'm lucky to make it to 70-80 miles before my tank reaches halfway.
