Step 1: Stop playing the deliverance theme song on your banjo.
Step 2: Consult someone with a more firm grasp on the english language and political affairs, prior to making vague and ill-informed political statements. You have touched on a multifaceted political issue, the exact causes and motivations of which cannot be pinned down by anyone; republican or democrat.

Ever wonder why countries like Kuait sent over 400 million in oil to help us out (and there were others too) after Katrina, but our gas prices didnt drop one damn bit????

What was the price of gas when Bush took office?

Things that make ya go HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Damn I wish I would have voted for Kerry....

So....ummmm
Has anyone noticed that as barrels of oil continue to skyrocket, a quart of 5w30 costs the same as it did 5 years ago (give or take slight inflation:))? Still dont quite get it.

LOL, yeah and I noticed the other day it was cheaper to buy 5 individual quarts, than to buy the 5qt jug... whats up with that?

Youll notice that contingency policies are normaly a positive thing. Hence, when "good ol" Clinton was dropping our reserve in a rapidly diminishing world supply of oil, gas prices dropped. Yay for the short run, but without long run in sight those are less than intelligent moves.

So I have to apologizzzzze for being stupid, what does than have to do with where the 6.1 million barrels of oil that Kuwait sent (and don’t forget there were other countries sending oil as well) that didn’t drop the gas prices at all....?

There is a shortage cuz of xxxx = RAISE THE PRICE....

Oh we just got over 6 million barrels from somebody else = RAISE THE PRICE SOME MORE....

How the hell does that equation proof?

Another one of my favorites is the "How could this happen?" bit... ...but nobody mentions that they just cut the New Orleans core of engineers budget by over 70 million dollars earlier this year (that’s over 40%)
Gee I don’t know, cut their budget in half, and than act surprised that the maintenance and upkeep weren't getting done?!?!? How idealistic is that?

It's the wonders of our government system. (read: corruption, misappropriation of funds, theft, blackmail, extortion, stupidity, total lack of common sense, etc...)

Ain't it great!

I am in agreement with much of what you said, and what I previously posted lines right up with your last statement hailing the govt for having a lack of common sense. I hope you werent inferring that I called you stupid, because if I ever want to call anyone out, I do it blatently, I was merely calling Clinton out for a bad move, and giving credit where credit is due. However, where humans exist, imperfection will abound. Govt. is not a set of rules, but a reflection of how well we follow those rules. Not one of us has a perfectly good week where we dont break them, its just generally our infractions arent held in public light, or affecting so many.

You're so fast calling on Clinton for something YOU think it was a mistake, but then you hipocritically go and state and I qoute you: "However, where humans exist, imperfection will abound. Just get your act straight and dont let your affiliation blind you.

Man, I apologize if any of my statements took this from a cartoon posting thread to a heated political debate. One reason that i dont see mentioned for the high prices is that global demand ahs gone up. China and India are now both buyong large quantities of gas as their countries modernize. And amercans by and large are buying trucks and SUVs rather than economy cars. So that all means demand has increased, while supplies are rapidly decreasing. So get used to the high oil prices, they will be around for a while no matter what party is in office. Whatwe need is a way to manufacture syntheyic gasoline from ag waste at a cost cheaper than pulling crude out of the ground. if you come up with a method of doing that you'll be able to have a new FORD GT parked in front of your mansion.

Let me help you out with something smart guy,
hypocrite:

n : a person who professes beliefs and opinions that he does not hold.

Straight from the dictionary. I wouldnt use words incorrectly or it shows your ignorance. I would venture to say I stated nothing in regards to political affiliation however you have shown your tendency towards liberalism. Thats fine for you, however I was trying to make the situation calm and let him know I was not calling him stupid at all. You on the other hand..... that is in no way wrong for me to say that we all fall short of perfectionism unless that is what you think you have obtained somehow. If ya have, let my in on this secret of yours. My act is more straight then you even realize. I have been brought to the Capitol with the federal govt, sat on the senate floor as an intern, and taken political classes at both of my colleges. I have formed my convicions with firsthand experience. Firsthand is not watching cnn or reading some biased newspaper article written from one mans perspective. Dont try to tell me where my act needs to go son.

And once again I say you had hypocrisy in your statement for calling out Clinton's mistakes and then giving credit where credit is due! Credit?? what credit and due for what? And then you go on with bs that no one is perfect...well no 5hit Sherlock, thats where you contradicted your self in the statement. So its ok to bash ones for mistakes and others just say its ok because humans make errors.

Ohh and as far as news...yeah I dont watch cnn like you think... I get the financial times newspaper everyday, and unlike US media I get real news, but you should know that since you took some poli sci classes. But as far as that sorry bubba you taking poli sci classes doesnt mean crap, I majored in it and another one in geography. And I've attained a commission as an officer and yaa I’ve been to places with the fed gov and not as an intern!
Now you're the one that showed political tendencies here, just because I wasnt supporting your theory which was politically biased doesnt mean I have to be the opposition. If you wanna talk politics I'll happily entertain your thoughts through PM's, just leave this thread for what it was, or open your own political thread.

One more thing, dont bring the dictionary again because if you bring the meaning of words, bring all of them, dont just pick the meanings that suit you. Hmmmkay?

I was far from "bashing" Clinton. IMO, he is/was a very good politician. The credit I was referring to was not to Clinton, but to those who corrected his decision. Its "BS that no one is perfect?

Me taking poli sci classes doesnt mean crap? Well thanks for the exaggerated opinion, but then why did you major in it??? My mention as to interning on the Senate floor was to give a brief example of some of the FEW things I have done. I dont want to expound on my experiences or make a list in someone elses thread here. How is it you are negating the fact that this was started as a political thread and and trying to shift focus to only my posts???

Thanks for the offer of my thoughts being entertainment to you, but I would rather not. My thoughts are not politicaly biased, as that is a gross understatement to the complexity of the process in which my convictions are formed. Its obvious we got off on the wrong foot for discussing politics which frequently occurs within this arena.

As far as your plea to not bring the dictionary for just words that suit me.... I am lost as to where you draw that conclusion... I used it once, to dissolve your false accusations. Here, let me save you some time. Go to this link and see its the only definition given to the word outside of religious context...

As for if I have threadjacked, I am sorry if I have offended you for that, and I will try very hard in the future not to steal anyones threads. I did enjoy the comics, thank you for posting them.

Yeah I guess we interpreted one another in the wrong way. The reason I said taking some poli sci classes was crap was because there were a lot of fools that took those classes for electives and such and didnt understand the subject very well. No pun intended on this one.
As for the dictionary, yes the word hypocrite states that, but you should also look up the roots of the word or the word that I actually used. The meaning of hypocirsy is just not attriubted to religion anymore.
Anyways gotta go now.
