Okay i basically want to refinish the plastic gas tank cover on my car. I don't want to just paint it because It will probably flake off too easily. Would something like interior panel dye work on it? If so what's a good kind to get?

I sanded mine down to get it smooth and then used filler primer and wet sanded it to make it like glass.

Then I painted it gloss black.

Here it is installed over a new gas tank... turned out pretty good I think.

I like the Glens covers too. That might be an option rather than spending hours sanding and priming on my stocker. Thanks for the pic Blown 5.0
