I am slowly getting together the parts to swap to EFI, i am down to the fuel system, i am getting a tank, lines, and pump for $30 do i need anything else? Also will this tank a 1990 bolt up in my car with no problems? The only other thing i lack is the EFI harness, i think i will break down and buy a painless harness, it will save a lot of time and problems. Has anyone used this also, if you have please give input

I know that the straps are the same between the 2 model years you've listed, so the tanks should swap out no problem. Don't forget about the sending unit so your gauge works as well.

i just swaped my gas tank and S.U. and pump (fixed the fume smell) you might as well buy a new filler neck seal. not sure on the sending unit. carefull with the clips that the bolts go in on the straps. mine broke but i was still able to use them.

I am getting a new tank, lines, and a pump for $30. That is a lot cheaper than an inline pump which are 300+ for a decent one. I am planning on forced induction in the future

you'll need a sender specifically from an 86gt. the 87+ ones won't work, your gauge will read backwards. I don't believe they make the 86 senders repro either.

technically, the correct way to efi a foureyed fox is to use an efi wiring harness from an 86gt, this includes the entire enchilada from engine harness to dash harness to body and rear harness, EVERYTHING. That will get you going efi.

Now, that's a whole lot of swap work, and you can still do an efi conversion by splicing your current harness. Go to foureyedpride.com, and you'll find your answer to what to do for the rear harness.

thanks guys, i would rather use a brand new harness, i have 2 from a 87-93 car i dont know what year though, but i dont want to take a chance of a wire being broke, or short across ect. I will go to 4 eye pride and see what the guys say over there so the 87-93 tank will bolt up in my car with no problems though?

I've got an extra, but i'm not ready to part with it yet, although they come up, as people know what they are.

the 87+ tank will work fine, same tank as the 86 cars
