What is this I'm hearing that regular and mid-grade gas is bad for your car at the time? Idk about anyone else, but where I'm at in Florida they're only selling premium. I heard on the news something about this and that it makes your needle move back and fourth or something. I actually saw it happen to may car, for I put 89 in it this morning. Does anyone know about this???

Something about high sulpher content in the gas is causing the problem. They claim that it won't hurt the engine. The Motiva distribution depot is right near where I work and more than Shell trucks get there gas from there so I wouldn't be surprised if the contamination is more extensive.

Hey I saw that happen to mines too. Just like 30 mins. ago. When I first started up the car, my needle was at half and I was like Damn!!! I just filled her up yesterday. Turned her off and turned back on again and jumped up to full. I was thinking my sensors were going bad or something.

Whoa - I thought this was one of those hoaxes when I first read Greg's post, but I guess it's true. And I guess we'll stay away from Texaco and Shell.

It's nice if you must use premium though, hit up Shell and Texaco for Premium at regular prices.

I've found Exxon gas is about the best around.
