Almost everytime I start the car my gauges sweep like I'm holding the trip button to do the gauge diagnostics. Why is it doing this? I have a 93 tune from Brenspeed and the tuner I'm using is the SCT Xcalibrator 2 if that has anything to do with it.

Possibly the battery is about to take a dump on you. Mine does that along with a slow start if it has been sitting a couple days. I'm pretty sure i'll have to get a new batt before winter, still running on the stock one.

I'd be willing to bet you think the starter is on its way out because your battery is almost done for. When your battery is close to gone it can cause weak start conditions and the gauges WILL do a full sweet every time you start your car. Took me about a week and 1 jump start to figure that one out on my own lol.

thanks..ill have to get a new battery then. tonight i was backing her into the garage, trying to be quiet, so i was using all clutch no gas and whenever i heard the fan turn on she stalled. could a weak battery cause that since the alternator is working harder?

Try cleaning the battery terminals.

Like I said earlier, I have the same experience as you are having. Im allmost positive it is the batt on its last leg. Check youre terminal fist and they are tight and clean, prob invest in a battery.

That being said, most guys will say get an optima battery. We both have 99's and on the stock batt so that being said I will go with motorcraft.....8 yrs and still going, barely but going .

thanks, i will definitly be getting a new battery soon. id like to get motorcraft also again, do you know of a motorcraft battery that has a higher rating thats the same size as stock? instead of a direct replacment id like to upgrade a little if possible.
