you need a tach adaptor to install the tach. I got mine from www. Ponyexpressperformance.com

it will convert the pcm signal into a reading the tach can understand.

You'll need the tach adapter,to start with.
And this is what i got form a email reply from autometer ( i used there tach adapter part # 9117)....

Locate the large, square, 42 pin wire harness connector on the passenger side firewall. Look for pin #34, which is usually located towards the corner of the connector and is usually a solid red or red with a green stripe wire, (occasionally white with blue stripe). Cut this wire in half and wire in the tach adapter in between the two cut halves. The solid red of the adapter
will attach to the wire half that still has power when the key is on. The red with green stripe wire of the adapter will attach to the other half of the wire you just cut. This way the power to the coils flows through the adapter. Ground the black wire of the adapter and hook the gray wire to the green wire of the tachometer.

As for the air fuel ratio gauge....

There are two options for this hookup as well, again it's the left or right sensors. Locate the PCM, which is above or behind the passenger side kick panel. Look for the 104-pin connector. For the left sensor you will go to pin 87 which is a red wire with a black stripe. For the right sensor you will go to pin 60 which is a gray wire with a light blue stripe.

....Good luck

A note...its the square box with all the wires going into it and a 10mm bolt going through the center. You DONT have to remove this bolt or even loosen it. There are four little clips 2 on each side that you can use your fingers to lift up a little on each side and pull the cap. You will see #34 on the row of wires closest to the firewall and to the right if your standing in front of the car. You can mount the tach adapter right to the firewall.

There are two red wires....I cut the wrong one first. DOH! Then I removed the plastic and looked at the numbers and low and behold ANOTHER red wire #34.

Thank you 1lowGt!

Great Information...
