ok i have 3.55 gears and i want to get something else 3.90 or something
i tach about 2500 at 75mph...sound about right?
what would it be if i had 3.90s or 4.10?
i also don't want my first and second gears to be too short, my friend had a 97 cobra with 4.10s and they were perfect for his car...
and about what would my top speed be? i think he topped his out at 140 or 150 not sure tho, just wondering so i know how much room i have to play with

I just recently had 4.10's installed in my car. At 70 mph I am running about 2400 rpms. 1st gear is pretty short, but it isn't too bad. What I like about it is, every time I shift, the rpms stay within my engines power range. Like if I shift at 2500 the rpms only drop down to about 1800-2000 rpm. It seems like it pulls in every gear now! 5th gear even has a little pull to it! As far as top speed, well, I haven't ran it up past 100 yet. Follow this link and there are a few videos of a 4.10 car running it up to about 130+. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=521948

With 3.90:1 and stock 245-45-17 tires 75 MPH will be around 2565. In theory top speed should be around 152. But more like around 135 - 140 unless you are on the salt flats.
With 4.10:1 and stock 245-45-17 tires 75 MPH will be around 2700.
