Ok, the saga of my 'Stang continues. You all know that ford is buying back my 03 and replacing it with an 04 (long story, theres a thread on it somewhere). The dealership is throwing in $400 in Ford Accessories. Not cash, but its still great!

Now, that $400... I'd like to get Ford Racing 4.10 gears. I have an automatic though, and the chip is EXPENSIVE. Could the dealer reflash my ECU to adjust to the 4.10s? Or is that outta the question. What else could I get from Ford/Ford Racing for under $400?

yes they can reflash the computer. are they including install with the $400? if not, you could also get some springs or u/d pulleys. (i'm not sure if ford makes pulleys for 02+)

Unfortunately no FRPP pullies for the 02+ (I think the catalog even specifically points out that the ones they do sell won't fit on the 02s and up).

Not too start a fued here but i don't think the dealer can reflash the computer because my dealer did the gears. But they could'nt correct the speedo though they tried several times. One of my friends is a mechanic there and the other the head of the parts department. Unless they were missing something, wich is possible. You are going to have to get a chip.

I don't want to sound like a happy customer (which I am) but contact T&J Performance for a reflash price and the benefits of an adaptive tune before you commit to the dealer or a chip.

A programmer like mine would work, but you're back to the money issue.

When are you dynoing your stang? Mustang Magic Dyno day??

btw feel any difference in the reflash?

Back on Topic: In terms of having a dealership reflash your computer...HELLS NO...they f-ed me when they tried to do it for my stang and in the end Tim(Cobra Killer) had to step in and have steeda fix it for me.

DON'T TRUST THE DEALERSHIP with NON basic service work.

1. If I am not broke I will try for dyno day on March 13th. Need to look over bills this weekend. (Just back from Jamaica.)

2. Hell yeah! Read the thread I started today on the reflash.

Nah. Went to Beaches Sandy Bay & Beaches Negril (family) and spent a lot of time at Sandals Negril. Some topless but certainly no NOODIES. Hedo II is right next door though.
