I'm sorry guys but I really need to vent here. Hate that term. But it fits. I dropped my newly bought 1988 GT off at the shop in early May with a knock in the motor. I knew the car had been driven hard so not a big problem. They said they could fix it. The problem since then has been the lack of any communication on their part. I understand that they are a very busy shop with a very good reputation. But it's been almost two months now. UPDATE. Work has been started on my car. The engine is out. That's usually a good sign. I hope.

Why are you waiting? Show up with a flatbed and take it home.

Don't know what your plans are but you could buy a fully assembled motor from a reputable shop and drop it in yourself. It would basically consist of removing the old and installing the new. Everything would already be assembled if you're not comfortable with wrenching yourself. Invite some buddies over and have fun.

Things are looking up

I went to the shop today and the engine had already been removed. I had been planning on asking for my money back and calling a hauler. The car is kind of special to me so I just took a couple pics and left. By the way, it's a Vortech supercharged 377 stroker. Edelbrock injected. Full 3 inch exhaust. Built manual automatic with 373 gears. Which is why I chose this shop in the first place. And I will get a warranty.

Ive been through this myself man. I wont say the name of the shop, but it was here in Akron, OH. They had my car for 4 months. I got my car back it ran like ****, they closed down like a month later, so I towed my car to Anderson Ford in Illinois and will never go anywhere else!

The engine out doesn't mean a thing. A decent mechanic can remove the engine and trans in less than an hour. So the fact that they did one hours work on your car in a few months doesn't say much.
You are doing a 377 which won't require much from your old engine, pretty much just the sensors and accessories.
Check to see if your new engine is there and built, if it's not, try and get your money back (which they probably won't have) and move on.

the squeaky wheel gets the grease!! raise hell and ask questions. why did it take two months to pull a motor that calls for a few hours to pull? are you paying less than other customers? if not than why are they more important than you?
