No whining or grinding AT ALL. Everything works great. All I need to do is figure out how to get those springs on the e-brakes on the back calipers. I probably didnt even need to take them off, but I did anyway.

I LOVE the gears. 1st is gone like that if I get on it, but its there for a while if Im just cruising. 2'nd is like 1st used to be. And I can sometimes catch a scratch in 3rd.

Awesome!

Are going to be able to do a before and after track test without any other mods?
I am curious to see if they help your times at all. Mine didn't and I just wanted to get a third person to verify this. I know Slow5.0 (Ernie) had the same results as me in that gears did nothing for his track times.

Well when i installed 3.73s back in 03 , i think it was 03 lol it was long time ago i had stome street tires , i didn't get any faster on 1/4 i think ,i couldn't get any traction but MPH was better

Get some drag radials and launch that bitch

So, if I read the other thread correctly you went 14.7 with a 2.0 60' with the new gears and sticker tires.

Actually you went a couple tenths slower than what's in your sig.
You could attribute those couple tenths to the hot temps at the track.
So, about the same ET as when you had stock gears.

Interesting results.

Sorry i missed that.

The only things that have changed on my car since the 14.5 was gears, and no more straight pipes. It was also about 50-60* when we went and I got my 14.5. It was around 90* yesterday. I plan on getting some cutouts any way so I will be able to tell you guys for sure if my mufflers are killing my top end compared to the straight pipes.

But regardless of the lack of a 1/4 time gain, gears are fun as hell on the street. :)

I agree. Gears definately make the car way more fun to drive.

I just think that most of us that are running N/A would benefit from a gear ratio that would put us at our power peak at the finish line.

I am betting that you were shifting into fourth right around the 1000' mark.

Yep, with more hp comes more speed in the same distance.

I have been thinking about shifting at 6100rpm and holding third to the finish line which would put me right around 6361rpm at the finish line.

Kinda wrapping it up tight but I think she'll hold.
