sup everyone... after my bitter lose against a 5.7L GTO i am thinking about gears... just not sure which one to get , my tansmission is a automatic and the car is a 2004 , i want ford racing gears so i am stuck bettween 3.75 or 4.10...
and is tunning a must?
what do you guys think :SNSign:

I don't see why you would need a tune if you are simply modifying a gear ratio. I would recommend 4.10's especially because of the fact that you are an auto. That will put you in with the 5 speeds, but not near a GTO. It will take more modding if you want to get to that level and cost good $$$$.

i mean like a tune for the tranny to shift correctly.. i saw a thread when someone metioned that sometime the car will hit the rev limiter if he floors it with 4.10...
i dont care if my speedo is off , as long as the car is shifting right

a tune for the 4.10's !!? i dont know but i never heard about that. But i'm with kilgore on this one ..go 4.10 with an Auto. And you will need alot more to reach to the GTO AKA ..Lumina SS which is what you call it in Kuwait, right?
anyways,i'm also located here in the Gulf area..Qatar ..if you need help just ask :nice:

4.10s, 4.10s, 4.10s. Use the search function and find out that this subject has been royally beaten to death.

You will absolutely need a tuner (or speedo gear) since your speedo/odometer will be off. I have 4.10s on my automatic and I can live with the shift points.

4.10's, a shift improver kit or handheld tuner to firm up your shifts, and a stall converter with a nice big tranny cooler. You won't believe what that'll do for you. You still won't be able to spank GTO's, but you'll be a lot closer than you were before, and you'll spank stocker 5spd Mustang's around your area.

hey guys not meaning to start anything here, but I have never had trouble with 5 speeds on the street or track, and the 4.10's have even made that a bigger gap....could have been driver error though...and yes, I know this may be different with slicks, but not everyone has them!

But I do miss the fun factor of the five speeds, especially since this is my first automatic. I am in the process of looking for a cheap t45 and a king cobra to complete my swap.

i am not looking to race that gto anytime soon....
but i want to keep up with the new mustangs model
and i dont need any mods to beat up a 5-speed mustang
they are slow off the line i have taken like half dozen of them and only lost to some with mods or gears
thanks all :)

That's interesting. Sort of related story, somebody last night at work was mentioning how they always imagined Haiti to be a dirty place full of poverty, etc.. he said when he went down there to help somebody deliver a car, there were Jaguar's and Mercedes driving around everywhere. Somebody pointed him a certain direction saying, "that's the "bad" part everybody sees on TV."
