I have a 05 mustang gt manual with 3.31 gears (use to be auto) and im debating over 3.55 vs 3.73 gears. Car is a DD and basically i want a little more acceleration. What im thinking about is cruising high way speeds so i thought maybe the 3.55 would be a balance. Anyone have idea of the feel of the 3.73 on 05 gt and rpms at lets say 70 75 or 80 miles an hr and compared to the 3.55's.

I also have a 2005 GT and mine is a manual it came stock with the 355 I switched them out right away for 373 I really liked them for dd kinda fun in the city driving but on the highway @ 70 mph the RPMs would be right at 1,800 in 5th gear used those gears for about 4 years but I wanted more pep in my step around town so I just installed 410s yesterday just because my spyder gears just stripped out from all the hard launches at the track so I decide to also upgrade the ring and pinion one more time

70mph at 1800rpm sounds a little bit off for 3.73 gears i would imagine higher rpms were u on stock or tall tires? Did you go with FRPP 3.73 gears and were they noisy compared to stock? Finally was first gear useless on normal city driving?

Nitto nt05 drag radials 305/45r18 are the tires And yes they are quiet if they are shimmed correctly and they are the Ford racing gears both sets and the 410 gears are around 2300 RPM at 70mph

With the 373 gears first gear is more usable around town but my own opinion I like the 410 gears better even tho around town first gear is kinda pointless
