im wondering what kind of killer deals i could get on a new cobra or a used cobra that someone or a dealer would sell when the 05 hits the sales lot?? im thinking that a person that has a cobra will want the 05 so bad that he might almost give away his svt for the excitment of a new 05??does anybody think the used svt market will be a good thing for the cobra shopper looking for a great deal on a 03-04 svt??

I've seen Mustang Steve here post this in several threads, and I couldn't agreee more... what happened to searching? Please, people, search for a thread before starting a new one. Some people say the search doesn't work, albeit, it works fine for me. If this is in fact the case, can a System Administrator look into this or something? Can we enhance or change the search to work better?

I'm with Steve... tired of the same old new threads.

Examples of an acceptable thread:
"Here are my new pics of the 2005" "Test Drive a 2005 in Central Florida"

Examples of an unacceptable thread since it has been posted 500 times:
"How much will the 2005 cost?" "When is the Cobra out?" "IRS?"

Examples of an unacceptable thread based purely on stupidity:
"Will they have a 4 cylinder?" "Will the GT be under $20,000?"

Posting in several threads? What about bluebloodedford starting multiple new threads with the same question?

I hear ya man... that too, is BullShot.... people need to learn to use the search tool, and be patient... People need to stop posting 12 threads with the same question.

If you wanted a good deal on a Cobra, that would have been last year when they were $7000 off MSRP. Demand is going up now, so the price will not be going any lower.

Sorry to break it to you, there will be no '05 Cobras hitting the lots. There will be no '06 Cobras hitting the lots either.

So, the price of '04 Cobras should hold up for the foreseeable future.

maybe for a brand new used one (still unlikely)?????

not for a slightly used one thought, in the auto trader sites used cobras are getting alot cheaper,,,,,,,,

I would consider getting one with 10,000 on it cause I would save a ton o cash....

04 Cobra- no, 04 GT- yes. I would think that the 04 stang will have some really nice deals going on come late summer/early fall. 03/04 Cobra's are lookng to be the power bargain of the decade. Rumor has it that the 06/07 Cobra (whichever it is) will either have the 4.6 stroker motor w/400-425 hp n/a or a 5.4 3-valve with supercharger. Both of these cars are also rumored to cost just south of $40k for a coupe and north of $40k for a vert.

At that time 03's will probably average 25-40K miles and $18-$22K and 04's with 20K-35K will go from $19.5-$24K.

I heard that down in Florida they have good deals on GT model Mustangs, I have no clue about the Cobra... I have to agree about the search, it works, sometimes.

this makes me wonder......

I havent really heard much about the 03/04 cobras reliability......

how are they holding up engine/tranny/supercharger wise????

what are the most common problems/ warranty work on these cobras?

i imagine the engine will hold up a long time with the forged internals and all?

So unless I hear alot a shhheeeit about them I will probably go for a used one after my gt is paid off.

For the most part un-molested 03/04 Cobra's are pretty reliable. The early cars were plagued by "first=run" issues. Driveline clunks, highway vibrations from driveshaft/rear, the infamous "tick", and the "stall". The problems were almost always with the first run 03's. I have one of the few last 03's built, build date of 07/03. I took it to the dealer for a new blower belt (original squeeled a tad). It did exhibit some driveline vibration from 78mph and up but that has slowly gone away over the last few thousand miles or so. All in all, been fine for me.

All is forgiven though when the "GO" pedal is pressed!

On SVT Performance people commonly are asking 25ish for coupes with around 10K on them and I had called last week about a new Yellow 03 Cobra in Michigan asking 28000 after rebates....if I could justify paying the difference between mine and those for 4 years when I can't drive it in the winter I'd be blown right now.

I love cars but for that much a month in payments/extra insurance I can put away enough for a trip to cancun every 6-8 weeks.

I got a 2004 GT convertible loaded for 6500 off MSRP. It doesn't have the interior package or the mach 1K, but has everything else. I put 3500 down too, so got a pretty good deal I think.

Hee hee, we get killer deals on Mach 1's here in the UK, a local US car specialist has a black one with delivery miles for sale at 27,000 GBP. For you US guys that works out at about $49,000 !!! Also gas here is almost $7 per gallon at the moment, so running costs would be high too.

I'll hopefully be living in TX by the end of the year though, so I'll be able to take advantage of the relatively cheap cost of motoring over there, I fancy a 2005 GT in screaming yellow.

Oh.... hello board !!!
