Want to know a get rich quick scheme that works? Its called frivolous lawsuits! Nothing says success like taking advantage of a bad situation.

I can't post many details here in case this woman's ambulance chasing attorney finds this site, but I got in a "fender bender" in my parking lot thursday morning. I was backing out, and got ready to turn and was hit.

The accident may have been my fault, may have been the driver. Its really hard to say. But, this person got out of the car, with his passenger, and the first thing I said was "are you guys ok?"

I felt like a moron because this was a 15mph accident we're talking here. But hey, i had my cellphone in hand, thought I'd ask. Everything was fine. Exchanged info, took pictures, and I headed off to work.

Today, I get a call from my insurance company and get the great news. This person is claiming SEVERE INJURIES from the accident. Injuries that are preventing her from working, and she already has a "personal injury attorney" working on the case. He says the amount they are asking for already to settle is far above the 50k my insurance covers.

I love america. If you are too stupid or lazy, or just a plain waste of skin, you can still get rich. Just sue somebody. I'll keep you guys posted with whatever I can.

I was stuck in 5mph traffic on the 205 a few years ago and nudged the car in front of me as I was trying to switch lanes to get off the jammed up highway. Same as you, I got out, asked if all was ok...yada yada...Then weeks later I got the call from my insurance company stating they were paying out some rediculous amount and that once they got to their destination (another state) they were suffering severe neck pains. Gotta love America.

I guess I'm to stupid and will always be broke.

Last year I was making my way out to my car for lunch from work. I had reminded them that the bulbs for the lighting needed to be replaced, twice. The parking lot had some broken up asphalt, I stepped wrong and this bumble bounced....twice. Shattered my wrist and then knocked a pice off of my elbow(still can't strighten it out). Did I sue.... no. Should I have... NO. People just need to take personal responsibility for their actions and not look for the quick buck!!!!

I hate that kind of people, they're normally the first to claim they're rights and hide behind the flag but they never jump in front of the flag to defend it!

What a moron. We got rearended at a stop light a few years ago. I was ok at the time, but hours later I couldn't move my neck. Did I sue? No. I went to the Dr, who made me go to the ER, then they just billed the guy's insurance and he had no problems with it. Why get a lawyer and sue? You could go to the dr, find out what happened and if it will cause long term damage, then just bill insurance. Isn't that why we HAVE insurance?!

Yeah, I'm no doctor, but I think 50k could cover just about anything a 10-15mph parking lot accident could cause, with all parties inside their vehicles. Call me crazy!

The guy who hit us was going 30mph. It was a bit of a jolt.

she has been out of work for three days and is already asking for over 50k ?

I doubt your insurance company would want to sink the 50k that they would have to pay. Hopefully they hire decent lawyers.

the united states needs some serious reform to our laws regarding personal injury.

Yeah if this goes through (which I doubt it will) I'll be pretty dissapointed in our system. I did everything "the right way" you know? I went to school, got a degree, developed some useful skills, put them to work to build a business and a good career, I go to work every day and everything I have was honestly aqquired. She goes out and makes a bunch of mistakes, lives below what she feels she deserves, and waits for opportunity like me to come along to build her dream.

Believe me I'll do anything in my power to make sure she doesn't get more than my insurance company is paying out. I wont certainly wont go for the
"killer" advice, but I won't have any assets for her to take by then. And I'm getting an attorney next week to get the ball rolling to protect myself.

tell your insurance agent who is dealing with it to figure it out......thats why you pay for insurance. let the insurance company pay their own lawyers.... i wouldnt go out and spend your hard earned money paying for a lawyer to do what your allready paying for. tell your agent that you will not allow them to "settle"... tell them to take it to court and you will gladly testify. my guess is that as soon as the other "lawyer" figures out they wont just pay up... things will change.

Fk it, if I ever get slammed into by somebody in a Mercedes, Im gonna fall down, grab my neck and piss all over myself.

That should be worth at least a years salary. ( or a FFR cobra, and a 03 cobra)

The last two times I got hit I tried to be nice, and all it got me was the shaft.... everybody skips out on what they are supposed to pay to have your car fixed, yada, yada, yada.....

The hell with it, if ya can't beat em, and the law wont let me drag them out of their vehicle and beat them unconsious (almost got sued for that too)....

How about we just kill all the lawyers, that should go a long way toward fixing the system.

I agree about the lawyers (not you of course JettBrett). The only problem is we need them sometimes to bail us out of trouble.
