getting close........

yeah, i did all the port work, and the exhaust ports are fully ported and polished too....

well i can tell you right now it will lose low end torque. 4.6 heads do not need porting on the exhaust side. you might make good power but with the lack of low end torque it might not seem faster. we ported a set of heads and used the same cams i have and lost big low end torque. even with a porting the intake side no porting on the exhaust side is needed.

Is it down on power? Any wierd noises?

I'd check and re-check all your vaccum lines and electric hookups to make sure nothing is missing.

You could also give the old IAC valve a cleaning.

Bring it past 3k and see how it does.

well i cant rely tell if its down on power, because i know the tune is way out, and it needs a dyno tune bad, but no noises at all....

you read my mind on cleaning the IAC, ill do it after work tomorrow,

i did get it to idle better by turning it up to about 850-900 ( it still shakes the **** out of the car:D)

ill have to bring it up past 3k, but im still afraid of going WOT:(

Well if you are worried about going WOT because of the tune and how its running, thats understandable.

I would get on it a little bit though, but I would ease into it just to see how it felt. Vary the RPM's a bit, it's probably a little late to do that procedure as the rings are probably near set now depending on what they are.

Why would you even risk it? Heads and cams leans out the mixture a lot, wait for a tune. No reason to put a new engine together to run it over-hot with a lean mixture while breaking it in.

So when are you getting that bad boy tunned:D? I wanna know how the beast runs. Oh and do you have a plan for the ole' stocker(build wise)?

with in a month or so, i want to get about 500 or so miles on it, i have only brought it to about 3500 easy, and when it gets a little over 3k you can hear the longtubes start to scream:D

oh, and for the stock motor, i have BIG plans, all forged, and eighter big bore or a stroker..........

well i just took it out to dinner, and it now has 73 miles on it:rlaugh:, but it does stumble around 2-3krpms, when i give it a little gas under load (2nd-3rd gear), i can rev it and it does not stumble at all, is this because of the tune?

im still running the plugs from the old motor, they have about 7k on them, but i think im going to get new ons, should i stay with platimun(sp?) or go with copper plugs? and should i still run the stock gap?

:SNSign:

I'm not saying he should go WOT...

Just saying he should gradually bring it past 3k and see how it acts. Getting on it for a second or two not WOT won't hurt to see how it is acting above 3k...:nice:

you guys are funny. a tune will not clear it up especially on an n/a car. if the car was blown a tune might clear things up.after my cam install it ran fine. something else is wrong. double check everything. once again the car should run fine, it may not idle but will not miss and stumble as described.
